Design Studio freezes

Issue

Design Studio freezes when using extension components. The user interface does not react to user interaction.

Solution

Unfortunately the performance of Design Studio can be poor when using extension components with the default configuration. You can adjust that by editing the "SapDesignStudio.ini" file located in your Design Studio installation directory (default: C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Design Studio). Changing the entry "-Xmx1024m" to "-Xmx512m" adjusts the memory management of Design Studio and is harmless. In some cases you may experience better performance with the value "-Xmx768m".
